Cookie policy

A cookie is a small text file that the browser keeps at the request of a website, so that it can be recognised on the next page or later. This page lists the cookies of Bonus No Purchase Required (there are only three of them), says which ones depend on your consent and how long each one lasts, and shows how to change the answer given to the banner.

Always present: the answer to the banner

The first one belongs to the site and is the only cookie written in every case: it is called "bnpr_consent", it contains nothing but the word "granted" or the word "denied", and it keeps the answer for 182 days (about six months), after which the banner asks the question again. Without it the banner would come back on every page, and this is why it counts as a strictly necessary cookie, for which no consent is required.

Only after "Accept": the statistics

The statistics cookies arrive only after "Accept". From then on the site loads Google Tag Manager (the container used to install Google Analytics 4), and Google Analytics writes two cookies on our domain: "_ga", to tell one browser from another, and "_ga_" followed by the code of the property, to keep the state of the visit. Both last up to two years, unless the browser deletes them earlier (with its own settings, as explained further down).

What they reveal is the number of readers, their country and the source of each visit, the pages read and the offers clicked, since every click on an "/aff/" address is recorded as an event. They never reveal who a reader is; the legal basis and the rights of every reader over these data (access, deletion, objection) are set out in the privacy policy.

If you answer "Reject", you are simply not measured: nothing is requested from Google, neither on the page in question nor on the following ones, and any "_ga" cookie left in the browser by an earlier consent is deleted at the moment of the refusal. Every page, guide and offer works in exactly the same way, because none of them depends on the statistics, and refusing costs nothing at all!

What the site does not use

There are no advertising cookies on Bonus No Purchase Required, no tracking pixels of the operators and no social buttons; the Facebook icon at the top of each page is a plain link, and it sets nothing until someone follows it. The banners of the casinos are images stored on our own server (the creatives supplied by each affiliate programme), so showing them reveals nothing to anyone.

The one exception is the seal of the GPWA (the Gambling Portal Webmasters Association, which has verified the site), since a few pages load it directly from the server of the association. Like any image coming from another server, the seal receives the IP address of the reader and the address of the page, although it does not set any cookie.

Beyond our pages

Things change once a reader follows a link to a casino, a bingo room or a poker room, because at this point our site is left behind. The link passes through an address of ours beginning with "/aff/" (a simple redirect), and on its own site the operator, or the affiliate programme that manages its offers, may then set cookies of its own, so that it can recognise a player who arrived from us.

Those cookies follow the cookie policy that each operator publishes on its site, and they remain out of reach (the site cannot read them), while the programmes report to us figures (registrations, deposits, commissions), never the identity of a player. The same applies to any other site reached from these pages.

Changing the answer

The answer can be changed at any time with the button below, or with the "Cookie settings" link at the foot of every page, which opens the banner again (the same banner shown on the first visit). Deleting the cookies from the settings of your browser has the same effect, since the banner then appears as if the visit were the first one, and the browser itself can be told to refuse the cookies of any site.
